Job Title: Software Test Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Type: Full-time
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 40.0
Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen (Must be Eligible to Obtain and Maintain a Security Clearance)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive software test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Create testing strategies and schedules aligned with project requirements and delivery milestones.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using bug tracking and defect management tools.
• Collaborate with software development teams to troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and validate fixes.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, negative, and usability testing.
• Develop testing programs that assess: database impacts, business workflows, application functionality, error handling, user experience, performance, and reliability.
• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.
• Monitor and track defect resolution efforts through completion.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on requirements, system architecture, schedules, risks, and product functionality.
• Document test procedures and results to ensure repeatability, compliance, and quality standards are met.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Minimum of 3 years of software testing, quality assurance, or software engineering experience.
• Experience creating and executing manual and automated test plans.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Familiarity with software defect tracking and test management tools.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) (preferred).
• AWS Certified Machine Learning Certification (preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks (preferred).
• Knowledge of database testing and validation techniques (preferred).
