The role

Kodo is an AI-native customer delight platform. We’re hiring a Founding Software Engineer who wants to build ambitious products, own the outcome, and use AI to expand what they can ship.

\n

\n

You’ll work directly with the founding team at Userflux, which was recently acquired. This is a role for an autonomous builder: someone who can turn an uncertain customer problem into a working product, get it into production, and keep improving it.

What you’ll own

\n

\n

\n
• Take products from problem selection to launch. Understand the customer need, decide what is worth building, make sensible trade-offs, and deliver something useful.
\n
• Work across the whole product: frontend, backend, data, integrations, deployment, and production reliability. Own how it works for customers, not just whether the code runs.
\n
• Build, test, release, observe, and iterate. Investigate failures, fix the underlying problems, and improve quality and security as the product evolves.

Be an AI-native builder

\n

\n

Heavy, effective use of AI coding tools is central to this role. We’re looking for someone who uses frontier models to build ambitious whole products and actively explores what becomes possible as the tools improve.

• Experiment with the latest models and tools. Know when to change approaches and choose the right model or workflow for the task.
\n
• Run parallel agents and workstreams effectively: break down work, provide useful context, define clear responsibilities, and integrate the results into a coherent product.
\n
• Stay accountable for the output. Independently review, test, debug, and check AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and production quality.
\n
• Show how AI has changed both your speed and your ambition. We want examples of products you can now build, not simply more code generated per day.

We value initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through. Move quickly, get feedback early, communicate clearly, and adapt when priorities change. You should be comfortable figuring out the next useful step without waiting for a detailed specification.

\n

Hustle here means fast iteration and ownership of customer outcomes. It does not mean unbounded hours or unpaid work. Good judgment includes knowing what to simplify, what to verify carefully, and when to ask for help.

Location and compensation

\n

\n

\n
• Full-time, based in New York City, with four days in the office each week.
\n
• USD $170,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus equity.
\n
• We’re open to visa sponsorship.
\n
